One of the lesson’s practicing yoga teaches you is to truly be in the present and I had never grasped that concept as well as I did this weekend.
Standing in mountain pose, surrounded by historical monuments, with the warm sun, bright blue sky and some great girlfriends around me, I couldn’t help but be more thankful for the present moment I was experiencing.
I realized while writing this post that this is the first time I had ever practiced yoga outside. So thankful for Down Dog Yoga and lululemon for hosting the Cherry Blossom Yoga on the Mall event.
After yoga, the girls and I headed to Founding Farmers, our favorite farm to table restaurant for a yummy brunch!
I ordered a sun dried tomato and artichoke egg white skillet with a Bloody Mary and it was delicious!
After brunch we went for a stroll around the Tidal Basin to enjoy the Cherry Blossoms and the warm spring sun!
Don’t worry if you were upset about missing your chance at practicing yoga on the mall, Yoga Week is hosting another “Yoga on the Mall” event on May 5th at 11am.
So grab your girlfriends, grab your mats and get outside it was an amazing experience, one I highly suggest experiencing!
