I use to not be the biggest fan of Thanksgiving. For me, all thanksgiving consisted of was lots of unhealthy food and stuffing yourself to the point you couldn’t move afterward.
As I have gotten older, I have realized how great this holiday is. I am constantly reminding myself and others to count their blessings and today is a holiday devoted to it!
Today, I am thankful for so many people and things in my life but after this crazy year, I am the most thankful for the simple things. My home still standing, heat, electricity, food, water and having a job to pay for it. So many people have lost so much this year, between blazing forest fires and relentless hurricanes.
It has reminded me how much we take the little things for granted. So when your annoyed with your relatives today or upset that you ate a second piece of pie, remind yourself how lucky you are to have the simple things.
If you are feeling like giving a simple gift today, head over to the American Red Crossand make a donation. There are still so many families and people in need from hurricane Sandy.
Wishing all of you an amazing day full of love and gratitude. I am so thankful for everyone who reads my posts!!!
