Have you ever felt judged by co-workers or friends for not eating the slice of pizza everyone else is enjoying or the birthday cupcake someone brought in to celebrate?
I don’t know about you but I constantly hearing:
- “You are the size of my leg, you can surely eat one piece of pizza!”
- “One cupcake won’t kill you!”
- “Oh, you are super healthy can you even be around these?’
- “That’s all you are eating for lunch?”
- ” Do you ever eat anything unhealthy and live a little bit?”
and so on….
It is crazy to me that the hardest part of making healthy choices day-to-day, is the pressure of other people judging me for making that health choice.
Yes, I am fit and healthy but it is because of always choosing the healthier option and hitting the gym at 5:30 in the morning that I am this way. Why is that considered such a bad thing?
Oh, how the world would change if everyone frowned upon unhealthy eating and reversed the social norm of bonding over junk food. Staff meetings being filled with yogurt and fresh fruit instead of bagels and donuts. Oh, what a world that would be!
Granted, there is a great healthy epidemic happening with more people realizing that if they put natural and healthy food in their body they will be happier and healthier.
So calling all health enthusiasts! Next time a friend, co-worker or family member question why you aren’t indulging in the group junk food bonding that day, just remember you are not alone and that fitting into your skinny jeans and fueling your body with healthy food is the right and perfect choice!
