This is my younger brother:
and ironically enough he comes home from a 9 MONTH DEPLOYMENT TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I always thought I understood the quote that, “freedom really doesn’t come for free,” but it wasn’t until my brother joined The U.S. Navy that I full understood what that meant.
He didn’t experience what all us twenties somethings have taken for granted.
While his friends were off at freshmen orientation weekend, college parties, tailgating at football games, crazy spring break trips etc. he was working 15 hour days, a million miles away, protecting their rights to do so.
So it is ironic to me that on the 11th anniversary of 9/11, I get welcome my brother home to the United States! I couldn’t be more proud to be Robert Barnett’s older sister today. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for courageously signing up to protect our country.
I hope that not just today but everyday people realize what liberties we have in this country because of the work out military does.
WELCOME HOME ROBERT AND THE USS MILIUS!!!!!!
