Growing up as a competitive gymnast, I never had a chance to learn the eye hand coordination of playing a sport that required a ball. At any cost, I would avoid basketballs, tennis balls, volleyballs etc. but I have been searching for a new physical activity that would challenge me and give me something to work towards.
So I decided to step out of my comfort zone, face my fear and try tennis! Tennis is a sport that you can play at any age and learn and play at your own level.
Yesterday, was my first lesson and although I literally wanted turn and leave the second I got there, I am so glad that I stayed! The class was with three other people and my instructor was very informative and understanding. Not to mention the really cute skirt I got to wear 🙂
I have found that when you put something outside of your comfort zone, for the most part it is all in your head. Once you face it and give it a chance its not near as bad as you think it is.
Moral of the story, don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone and try something new. You might be pleasantly surprised at the outcome.
