I don’t know about everyone else but this weekend was an anti-diet, eat things I haven’t eaten for years kind of weekend. Yes, it was great to let loose for a change and eat things like nachos, hamburgers, and lots of Chinese food. Not to mention a few sugary cocktails but this morning I woke up with a pang of guilt and the quest to get my body back on track!
Few tips I found to be helpful to jump start your body back to being happy and healthy:
- Ditch The Gilt. Life is short and if you don’t indulge in a few cocktails and greasy summer holiday food then you aren’t really living. You can’t go back and uneat or undrink anything you had this weekend. So ditch the gilt and focus on strictly sticking to your plan now.
- Drink LOTS of Water. Water keeps you from getting dehydrated, helps keep you full and ultimately helps flush all those yucky toxins out of your system. So drink up.
- Don’t Skip Meals. I think most people assume that they are compensating for the calories they ate before, by not eating now. WRONG, it doesn’t work like that. It only puts you at risk of being starving later and consuming more food that isn’t in your best interest. It also slows down your metabolism. Eat six small HEALTHY meals a day, to keep your metabolism going and burn those extra calories.
- Hit the Gym. Not only is it good for your body to sweat and work out some of those toxins but it will help motivate you and get you back into the right mindset of your healthy lifestyle. No it won’t be easy but it will be worth it!
